Meet the Clinic
Using deep learning for medical images naturally creates an intersection between AI research and clinical practice. The best research in this intersection happens through strong partnerships between AI and clinical researchers. This online event is designed to help build exactly those connections.
We are grateful to be joined by Assistant Professor Alessa Hering1 and Associate Professor Jannis Hagenah2 for this event. Both of them are experienced AI researchers with a strong track record of clinical collaborations, who will share what they've learned about building meaningful relationships, communicating effectively across disciplines and how their research benefits from clinical insights.
We're also excited to welcome two clinicians to the conversation: PD Dr. Franz Wegner3,4 and MD PhD Ewoud Smit1. They'll offer their perspective on what makes cross-disciplinary collaboration work and share advice on how researchers can position themselves as valuable partners in the clinical setting.
Whether you're just starting to explore clinical collaborations or looking to deepen existing ones, this event offers a chance to learn directly from people on both sides of the table.
