MIDL presents "Storytime Session"

Storytime Session 2025

The MIDL Young Researcher Board is proud to present a new series: Story Time Sessions. In these sessions, our invited guest would share their career journey and lessons learned along the way. We are delighted to announce our first speaker in this series will be Professor Julia A. Schnabel. The first Story Time Session will take place on 24 February 2026 at 4pm UTC as a virtual Zoom event. The event will be free of charge. However, a mandatory registration is necessary, and Zoom links will be sent out after registration.

About our story teller Potrait of Julia Schnabel

Julia A. Schnabel is Professor of Computational Imaging and AI in Medicine at Technical University of Munich and Director of the Institute of Machine Learning in Biomedical Imaging at Helmholtz Center Munich with a joint affiliation as Chair in Computational Imaging at King’s College London. She was awarded the PhD in Computer Science from University College London, UK. Next, she joined the University of Oxford, UK, as Associate Professor in Engineering Science (Medical Imaging), where she became Full Professor of Engineering Science by Recognition of Distinction. Her research interests include machine/deep learning, nonlinear motion modeling, as well as multimodality and quantitative imaging, for cancer imaging, cardiac imaging, neuroimaging and perinatal imaging.

We invite you all to bring your questions for our speaker - storytime sessions represent a unique opportunity to learn from some of the most experienced researchers in our field.
